Hepatitis B Vaccine Response Falls Short In Youth, Those With HIV

Furthermore, youth who are infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) appear to be even more unprotected, according to University of Alabama - Birmingham investigators.

A new retrospective and prospective analysis of youth enrolled in the REACH (Reaching for Excellence in Adolescent Care and Health) cohort has shown that of 61 adolescents who received three doses of HBV vaccine prior to participation in the study, only 70% were protected against HBV.
