Visible Genetics Genotyping Kit To Be Used In GlaxoSmithKline Trial

Visible Genetics, Inc.'s, Trugene HIV-1 Genotyping Kit will be used to provide genotype information on all patients enrolled in a large-scale, Phase III clinical trial sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for a new HIV drug. Visible Genetics will sell its Trugene HIV-1 Genotyping Kit to the group managing the clinical trials. This is the second GSK clinical trial to utilize VGI's products. In February 2000, VGI announced that it had been selected by GSK to genotype patient samples in its Atlanta laboratory facilities as part of a program to study drug-resistant mutations in HIV.
