Condoms, Education Dramatically Reduce HIV Spread In Thailand

Public health efforts in Thailand successfully reduced the sexual transmission of HIV and AIDS, but the transmission of the disease through injection drug is increasing, according to a study conducted by researchers at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

The study, which appears in the January 2002 issue of Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, suggests that more HIV prevention efforts are needed to target injection drug users.
