Medical college scientists launch AIDS prevention research core to help Eastern European colleagues

The Medical College of Wisconsin is establishing an International HIV Prevention Research Core to help public health officials of Central and Eastern Europe fight the world's fastest rising rate of HIV infection. A 2-year, $687,000 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to Medical College Center for AIDS Intervention Research (CAIR) scientists, in the department of psychiatry and behavioral medicine, is funding the Core, which will be a new and permanent component of the CAIR.
