Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation awarded $100M

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation announced that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded a grant of up to $100 million over 5 years to the Foundation's international Call to Action Project, which is taking immediate action to prevent newborn babies in resource poor countries from becoming infected with HIV.

In addition to preventing mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation helps to provide expanded prevention, treatment, and care services for mothers, fathers, and entire families.

The USAID funds will focus on countries throughout the developing world...
