HAART can restore CMV-specific immune responses in some infected HIV-1 patients

Immunopathologists from the Pasteur Institute report they've "reconstituted cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific T-cell responses in human immunodeficiency virus-1 [HIV-1] positive, CMV-positive patients receiving highly active antiretroviral treatment (HAART)."

M. Alfonzo and colleagues said they "used several combinations of functionality parameters to determine the degree of T-lymphocyte reconstitution obtained during one year of treatment.
