HIV test maker reports loss of $0.11 per share

Calypte Biomedical Corporation (CYPT), the developer and marketer of the only two U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved HIV-1 antibody tests for use with urine samples, announced financial results for the third quarter and 9-months ended September 30, 2003.

Revenues for the quarter totaled $897,000, versus revenues of $493,000 for the comparable period in 2002 and $749,000 for the previous quarter ended June 30, 2003. The net loss attributable to common stockholders for the quarter was $7.3 million, or $0.11 per common share, compared to a net loss of $1.5 million, or $0.51 per common share for the 3 months ended September 30, 2002.
