G-8 adopts plan to speed HIV vaccine development

The endorsement at this year's Group of Eight summit will provide global support for the initiative, senior administration officials said.
Bush has proposed spending $533 million next year on pursuing an HIV vaccine. He was to announce June 10, 2004, that a slice of federal money will go toward implementing one of the components of the new G-8 enterprise, two administration officials said.
