Clinton, World Health Organization join to support China's HIV/AIDS efforts

At a time when China is stepping up its efforts to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in the world's largest population, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) have joined to lend China their support.

WHO and CHAI, on July 1, 2004, signed a trust fund agreement. Although details have yet to be worked out, the agreement calls for a close working relationship between the organizations and the Chinese health authorities on important projects. CHAI will make funds available for such efforts through WHO.
