"Semen samples from a donor who seroconverted for human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) during the period that he was donating at our clinic were stored before and after infection. Semen analysis was done on all of these samples before cryopreservation.
"Retrospectively, both qualitative and quantitative HIV-1 testing was performed on the cryopreserved semen samples to determine the time of primary HIV-1 infection," scientists in Netherlands report.
