Aspen Pharmacare, South Africa's largest drug manufacturer, received tentative approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to produce a generic version of the AIDS triple cocktail of drugs. It was the first time the FDA had approved a generic AIDS product made by a foreign drug company.
