HIV-specific cytolysis/increased IL-10 associated w/ S. mansoni coinfection

HIV-specific cytolysis and increased IL-10 production is associated with Schistosoma mansoni coinfection.

According to recent research published in the Journal of Immunology, "Impaired virus-specific immune responses have previously been observed with Schistosoma mansoni coinfection. We characterized Gag-specific responses in HIV-1-positive Ugandans with and without S. mansoni coinfection."
