HIV/AIDS data are the focus of recent research from Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Study 1: Infants with perinatal HIV-1 infection benefit from early combined antiretroviral therapy.

Researchers in Italy conducted a study "to investigate the impact of early versus deferred combined antiretroviral treatment (ART) in asymptomatic or moderately symptomatic [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) category N, A, or B] infants with perinatal HIV-1 infection."
