Data from Italy, Spain and the United States advance knowledge in HIV/AIDS research

HIV/AIDS data are the focus of recent research from Italy, Spain and the United States.

Study 1: Amino acid insertions at position 35 of HIV-1 protease interfere with virus replication without modifying antiviral drug susceptibility.

According to a study from Italy, "Among 1,330 patients undergoing highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), three showed one or two amino acid (aa) insertions at position 35 of the HIV-1 protease gene.
