Study 1: Cryptosporidial diarrhea is associated with decreased CD4 counts but not high HIV RNA.
"This study characterized cryptosporidial infections in 48 human immunodeficiency virus-infected individuals in India by multilocus genotyping. Cryptosporidium hominis, C. parvum, C. felis, C. muris, and C. meleagridis were identified," scientists in India report.
"Cpgp40/15 PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism identified six subgenotypes," wrote D. Muthusamy and colleagues, Christian Medical College & Hospital.
