A community-based HIV treatment service in sub-Saharan Africa maintained efficacy after a rapid scale-up.

"Despite rapid expansion of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in sub-Saharan Africa there are few longitudinal data describing program performance during rapid scale-up. We compared mortality, viral suppression and program retention in 3 consecutive years of a public sector community-based ART clinic in a South African township."
