Researchers' work from Denmark and the United States adds to HIV/AIDS body of knowledge

HIV/AIDS data are the focus of recent research from Denmark and the United States.

Study 1: A splice donor site in the HIV gag-pol gene is required for viral RNA stability.

"Productive infection and successful replication of human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) requires the balanced expression of all viral genes. This is achieved by a combination of alternative splicing events and regulated nuclear export of viral RNA.
