Researchers from Bar-Ilan University, Faculty of Life Sciences describe findings in HIV/AIDS therapy

Research findings, 'Differential antiviral effect of PEG-interferon-alpha-2b on HIV and HCV in the treatment of HIV/HCV co-infected patients,' are discussed in a new report. "' The major antiviral effect of interferon (IFN)-alpha on hepatitis C virus (HCV) is blocking of virion production from infected cells. We now investigate the previously unknown mechanism of action of IFN-alpha against HIV," scientists in Israel report.
