Research reports from University of Toronto, Department of Anthropology provide new insights into HIV/AIDS therapy

Current study results from the report, 'Women's expectations of treatment and care after an antenatal HIV diagnosis in Lilongwe, Malawi,' have been published. According to recent research published in the journal Foot and Ankle Surgery, "Women in sub-Saharan Africa are increasingly learning their HIV status in prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) programmes in the context of antenatal care. This paper examines women's decisions about HIV testing and their experience of PMTCT and HIV-related care in one clinic in Lilongwe, Malawi."
