"Where's Nancy?"; Pelosi Silent While CA Health Care Crumbles

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the US' largest AIDS organization as well as the operator of California's largest alternative HIV testing program, is criticizing Speaker Nancy Pelosi (San Francisco, California - 8th District) today for her silence as Governor Schwarzenegger cuts more than $243 million from Health and Human Services-including $80 million from child welfare, $61 million from California's Medicaid program, $50 million from the state's insurance program for poor children and $52 million in AIDS prevention and treatment. AHF is calling for immediate federal assistance to stop the shredding of California's health care safety net.
