Research from Panjab University provides new data on disease progression

"Various efforts made to stop the deadly epidemic of HIV since its discovery in 1983 remain unsuccessful and this virus still continues to claim the lives of millions of individuals every year. The viral effect in the cell is complicated and the overall disease outcome is the result of interaction between a few viral proteins and complex host immune response," researchers in Chandigarh, India report.
