New opportunistic infections prevention data have been reported by researchers at University of Washington, Department of Epidemiology

Fresh data on opportunistic infections are presented in the report 'The association between lack of circumcision and HIV, HSV-2, and other sexually transmitted infections among men who have sex with men.' According to a study from the United States, "Observational studies evaluating the association of circumcision and HIV infection among men who have sex with men (MSM) have yielded mixed results. We examined the relationship between circumcision and HIV, herpes simplex virus type-2 (HSV-2), syphilis, urethral gonorrhea, and urethral chlamydia among MSM stratified by anal sexual role."
