Effects of treatment modality on quality of life determined

The effects of vestibular schwannoma treatment strategies on quality of life have been compared.

"The best way to manage small and medium-sized vestibular schwannomas is currently a matter of heated debate," scientists in England explained. "As these tumors are not immediately life-threatening, patients are invariably concerned about how management would affect their quality of life."

"Until now, no study has compared the three treatment modalities in terms of physical, psychological and social well-being," noted D. Sandooram and colleagues at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital in London.
