Accomplishments noted in smallpox vaccine program

In conjunction with the release of its annual results, Bavarian Nordic reported major achievements in its safe smallpox vaccine program, the most recent being that its Imvamune smallpox vaccine has been shown to be safer and faster in protecting against smallpox infection than traditional smallpox vaccines in development or stockpiled by the government. New data has shown that Imvamune is expected to be effective in protecting against smallpox infection 3 days after just one vaccination compared to traditional vaccines (i.e. DryVax) that show protection only after more than 10 to 14 days after vaccination and have a known risk of severe complications. ...
