Findings from Harvard University in arthritis risk factors reported

A report, "Anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha therapy and the risk of serious bacterial infections in elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis," is newly published data in Arthritis and Rheumatism. In this recent report, researchers in the United States conducted a study "To assess the association between the initiation of anti-tumor necrosis factor alpha (anti-TNF-alpha) therapy and the risk of serious bacterial infections in routine care. This was a cohort study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in whom specific disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) were initiated."
