Data on drug resistance described by researchers at University of Costa Rica
Published in Anti-Infectives Week, January 28th, 2008
In this recent report published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology, researchers in San Jose, Costa Rica conducted a study "To ameliorate the identification, evaluate the diversity, and determine the antimicrobial sensitivity of 19 oxytetracycline-resistant isolates of Stenotrophomonas sp. and Serratia sp. associated with Costa Rican crops. Phenotypical, chemotaxonomical, and molecular data allocated most isolates to the species Sten. maltophilia and Ser. marcescens."
