Companies to develop cell lines for production of recombinant proteins

Chromos Molecular Systems, Inc., (CHR) has entered into a collaborative agreement with Pfizer, Inc., to develop cell lines using the ACE (Artificial Chromosome Expression) System for production of Pfizer recombinant proteins.

Under the terms of the agreement, Chromos and Pfizer will collaborate to engineer a variety of cell lines specific for the expression of a Pfizer protein using the ACE System. Upon completion of the Pfizer-funded collaboration, Pfizer will evaluate the performance of the engineered cell lines. The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
