Biotechnology company announces new board of directors appointment

ICOS Corporation (ICOS) announced that Robert J. Herbold has been elected to the company's board of directors, effective March 16, 2005.

Herbold, previously executive vice president and chief operating officer of Microsoft Corporation, is the managing director of Herbold Group, LLC.

"Robert Herbold is a highly respected executive whose leadership and management skills have been honed over more than 30 years of extraordinary service at two of the greatest companies in the world," stated Paul Clark, ICOS chairman and chief executive officer.

"He will bring a wealth of knowledge and insight to the ICOS board," added Clark.
