State of Ohio awards clinic-led consortium $32.8 million for 3 research units

A consortium comprising The Cleveland Clinic, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Cincinnati and several medical device firms received $22.8 million from the state of Ohio to establish an Atrial Fibrillation Innovation Center at the Clinic. A second consortium received $6 million to fund age-related macular degeneration research based at the clinic's Cole Eye Institute and a third clinic-led group was awarded $4 million to establish a Clinical Tissue Engineering Center.
