Commercialization, R&D alliance with Biovail in cardiovascular area announced

Kos Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (KOSP) announced that it has entered into a strategic commercialization and research and development alliance with Biovail Corporation (BVF) and certain of its subsidiaries in the area of cardiovascular disease. Pursuant to the agreements, Kos acquired Teveten (eprosartan mesylate), Teveten HCT (eprosartan mesylate/hydrochlorothiazide) and obtained exclusive sales and marketing rights to Cardizem LA (diltiazem hydrochloride) in the United States.
