Medical technology company adds molecular genetic testing customer

Access Genetics, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, has completed implementation of its molecular genetic testing system for HealthEast Medical Laboratory. HealthEast has added Access Genetics' Inherited Thrombophilia panel of tests to its laboratory services, including tests for Factor V Leiden, Factor II Prothrombin and MTHFR. Thrombophilia is an inherited disorder caused by mutations in genes that control blood clotting. Doctors who know of a patient's tendency to clot can proactively take action to minimize clotting risks.
