Research study finds EMR and voice recognition solutions are needed to reduce cost and improve care

A Frost & Sullivan research study shows hospitals are increasingly deploying electronic medical record (EMR) applications with voice recognition solutions as a result of the increased pressure placed on healthcare providers to reduce costs and improve the quality of care provided.

Still a nascent market, the use of voice/speech recognition in healthcare management is expected to expand. Potential applications include transcription, patient monitoring, interactive response systems, telemedicine as well as electronic health record generation, maintenance and security.
