EntreMed presents data on combination of Panzem and Velcade in multiple myeloma

EntreMed, Inc. (ENMD), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases, announced the results of in vitro and in vivo preclinical studies showing a treatment benefit in multiple myeloma with the combination of Panzem (2- methoxyestradiol or 2ME2) and Velcade (bortezomib) over either agent used alone.

The results from these studies, conducted by EntreMed researchers, were presented at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology in Orlando, Florida.

Panzem is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 oncology clinical trials, including multiple myeloma. In...
