"Circulating homocysteine is a risk factor of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. Hyperhomocysteinemia may be an early indicator for vitamin B-12 disorders because cobalamin is a cofactor in the remethylation process of homocysteine," investigators in Ankara, Turkey report.
