Patent to be issued for new device to optimize radiation treatments

BSD Medical Corp. (BSM) announced that the company has received "official notice of allowance" for a new patent that is expected to be issued by the U.S. Patent Office.

The patent is being secured as the basis for a new disposable device that would enable the use of simultaneous brachytherapy (interstitial radiation) and microwave hyperthermia therapy, employing BSD's existing systems. Current technology allows only sequential treatments.
