Report shows three out of four type 2 diabetics were not in control of blood sugar

Data released revealed that from 2003 to 2004, nearly three out of four (over 70%) type 2 diabetics in Phoenix who were analyzed in a recent study were not in control of their blood sugar - failing to meet the A1C goal of 6.5% or less, according to the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists' (AACE's) "State of Diabetes in America" Report.

In addition to getting the free A1C test, AACE is urging Phoenix residents with type 2 diabetes to join others in taking an "oath" to better manage their diabetes.
