Chronic otitis media is associated with Helicobacter pylori infection

Children with chronic otitis media with effusion (OME) tested positive for the presence of Helicobacter pylori (HP). Scientists writing in the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology reported, "The aim of this study is to investigate the presence of HP in the middle ear effusion by Campylobacter-like organism (CLO) test and whether it has a role in the ethiopathogenesis of chronic OME.
