Findings from Spain and the United States describe new data in cancer treatment research

Cancer treatment research advances have been reported from Spain and the United States.

Study 1: A recent study from Spain has reported that caspase-1 functions as a radio- and chemo-sensitizer.

"The cytotoxic effect of anticancer drugs has been shown to involve induction of apoptosis. This observation raises the possibility that factors affecting caspase activation might be important determinants of anticancer drug sensitivity," wrote P. Martinduque and colleagues, University of Francisco Vitoria.
