Rotavirus gastroenteritis results in a significant number of hospitalizations among children in the United States. According to a report from researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "In the United States, rotavirus gastroenteritis remains a common disease of children that results in many hospitalizations, clinic visits and medical costs.
