GroPep is awarded a key patent for infertility treatment in Europe

Adelaide biotechnology company, GroPep, has achieved a major development milestone in its infertility drug program with the granting of European patent number 1028743, which covers GroPep's drug for the treatment of recurrent miscarriage. The patent provides the company with a European market patent exclusivity until at least 2018. GroPep already has two U.S. patents covering the active ingredient of the drug until 2020. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, at least 50% of recurrent miscarriages have no apparent explanation and there is no cure.
