Senior Advocates Join to Say 'No Way' to 'No-Growth' Budget

To thousands of Illinois seniors, the "no-growth" budget being debated in the state legislature could spell disaster, threatening the programs and services they need to live independently. Today, advocates for seniors and the frail elderly converged on the state capitol to voice their strong opposition to the cuts and urge their legislators to work to defeat the "no-growth" budget. The groups also released an AARP survey, finding the overwhelming majority of Illinoisans over the age of 50 don't back the cuts, but the issue may also determine who they vote for come election time.
