New Iressa data presented at conference

New clinical trial data presented at the world's largest gathering of lung cancer experts further explores the role for the new drug Iressa (gefitinib) in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Data reported include a phase II study of Iressa 500 mg/day conducted by the Southwest Oncology Group in 102 untreated and 37 previously treated stage III & IV patients with a sub-type of NSCLC called bronchioloalveolar carcinoma (BAC). This study showed a 15 month median survival in previously untreated patients and a 10 month median survival in previously treated patients.
