Advanced Medical Optics to Change NYSE Ticker Symbol to 'EYE' Effective June 8



July 6th, 2005

Advanced Medical Optics, Inc., (AMO, AVO), announced that, effective June 8, shares of its common stock began trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker symbol "EYE."

AMO also announced that on June 8, AMO president and CEO Jim Mazzo and AMO chairman of the board William Grant, will ring the opening bell at the NYSE to commemorate the ticker symbol change and the company's recent acquisition of VISX, Incorporated on May 27.
