Study confirms blood brain barrier penetration of AL-108 and AL-208

Allon Therapeutics, Inc., (NPC) announced that new preclinical animal studies have confirmed that its lead product candidates AL-108 and AL-208 penetrate the blood brain barrier and reach their target therapeutic areas in the central nervous system.

The blood-brain barrier is the system of capillary endothelial cells that protects the brain from harmful substances in the blood stream - and also prevents the permeation of many therapeutic drugs into the brain.
