Two-step gene profiling delineates colorectal cancer microsatellite status. According to recent research from Denmark, "the majority of microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancers are sporadic, but a subset belongs to the syndrome hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC).
