Biotech company strengthens patent portfolio on neuregulins products

Acorda Therapeutics announced that it has been awarded a new patent on its neuregulins products. This patent covers compositions of matter for the NRG2 family of growth factors as well as methods of production for NRG2. The addition of this patent broadens Acorda's existing neuregulin portfolio. NRG2 has potential applications in multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, Parkinson disease and chronic heart failure. The company plans to continue to file patents in support of the neuregulins program.
