Acute promyelocytic leukemia not linked to chromosomal imbalances

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) was largely unrelated to chromosomal imbalances. According to recent research from Japan, "APL is typically associated with the t(15; 17) that generates the PML-RARA fusion protein.
