Pervasis Therapeutics' Vascugel initiates U.S. clinical trials

Pervasis Therapeutics, Inc. has been enrolling patients in two Phase I clinical trials of the company's first product, Vascugel, to evaluate its safety and feasibility for the maintenance of vascular patency after creation of arteriovenous (AV) access graft and AV fistula, respectively, for patients undergoing dialysis for the treatment of end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
The company's investigational new drug (IND) application was successfully reviewed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in May.
