According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 3rd Annual Cambridge Healthtech Institute's Program Vaccines: New Technologies and Applications, held March 20-22, 1995, in Alexandria, Virginia, "Short-term efficacy of plasma-derived hepatitis B vaccine to prevent hepatitis B has been reported at home and abroad. Almost all studies demonstrate that the vaccine had satisfactory safety and immunogenicity and the protection rate was generally from, 70% to 96%. The long-term efficacy of hepatitis B vaccine has also been reported at home and abroad, but epidemic condition of hepatitis B and the studied subjects in other countries were greatly different from those in China.
