"A Sero-Epidemiologic Study of HCV Infection Among Different Patient Groups in the Orange Free State."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to The Year of Louis Pasteur International Symposia entitled Etiology and Pathogenesis of Infectious Diseases, held April 10-13, 1995, in Dakar, Senegal, "Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is the main cause of post-transfusion hepatitis worldwide. It is also associated with sporadic nonA-nonB (NANB) hepatitis. Aim: To determine the seroprevalence of HCV antibodies among various patient groups in the Orange Free State (OFS). Patients and Methods: Sera from 761 patients were analyzed over a period of 2 years.
